Much of my work involves experimentation with tech and collaboration with real people to explore aspects of their personal identities. Thus, I find residencies an enriching opportunity to work with amazing people and develop new projects.
Kathmandu International Artists Residency
Space A, Kathmandu, Nepal, during April 2026

Established in 2008 in Kathmandu, comprised of visual artists, interior designers, jewelery designers, musicians, and writers, Space A thrives on its unique diversity, birthing a plethora of magnificent ideas. Nestled in Babarmahal, Space A is an autonomous, non-governmental, non-political, and not-for-profit artist initiative. Its mission is to provide a stable platform for critical analysis, reflection, open discussion, information exchange, collaboration, and interactive communication, thus enriching the landscape of contemporary art practices.
I came away with three main strands of work: Synaptic Drift, Body Envelopes and a body of work and an exhibition both entitled The Body: Anatomy and Neurology. We also ran workshops with local artists called The Landscape of the Body– the outcomes of which were also featured in the exhibition.
This resulting exhibition celebrates the collaboration between myself and artist Kapil Mani Dixit. Stemming from a commitment to push our creative practices beyond what either could/would have achieved on our own, the series of works were challenging to make and perhaps are perplexing to behold. As artist in residence at Space A, I would like to express my enormous thanks to Neda and Jupiter for their far-sighted introduction to Kapil and for facilitating and supporting their collaboration.
Synapse residency
Chander Haat, West Bengal, India during April 2025

“The human brain comprises approximately 86 billion neurons that “talk” to each other using a combination of electrical and chemical (electrochemical) signals. The places where neurons connect, communicate and respond with each other are called synapses.“
On a previous visit to Kolkata, through family connections I found out about the Chander Haat collective. In April 2025, I had the opportunity to produce some new work on a residency at Chander Haat, West Bengal, India.
Design Lab: Performing Arts
Studio 88 and Base Box Theatre, Chiang Mai, Thailand, from August – September 2024

During this intense three week period, I developed relationships with performers and facilitators who I had met earlier this year in order to create several new pieces of digital artwork, collaborate on live performances, and run experimental workshops. I worked mainly at Base Box Theatre at the Thai Creative Design Centre in Chiang Mai (TCDC).
Many thanks to Aom from Studio 88 and Chai from Base Box Theatre, who produced and facilitated these events, as well as every talented performer and choreographer involved.
There were three main strands which I developed during this residency:

Gender – Fluid: Evolving Identities
Studio 88, Chiang Mai, Thailand, from May – June 2024

Gender – Fluid: Evolving Identities is an open-ended theme that encouraged artists to delve into the multifaceted nature of gender. Creatives were encouraged to examine how gender is perceived, experienced, and expressed in our society. I took part in this residency alongside international artists Rachel Chapman (Australia), Kim Liyoun & Kim Sono (South Korea), and Dr. Tobias Wiggins (Canada). I spent much of the residency in workshops collaborating with local director, actor and dancer Thanupon Yindee (Golf).
“This residency seeks to foster a dialogue on topics such as identity, self-expression, societal expectations, and the intersectionality of gender with other aspects of our lives.”
One project I developed during my residency was Invocation. Click the button to find out more:

Perfection / Speculation
Praksis, Oslo, Norway, from August 2020 until September 2021

This residency included an exhibition, Perfection / Speculation, at the Vigeland Museum. My participation in the Perfection / Speculation Residency was supported by the Arts Council England.
The residents were selected from investigators whose focus is on the modifiable human body as a medium of expression, experimentation, research and social interaction: artists, designers, scientists, writers, psychologists, programmers, film- and video-makers and anthropologists.
Perfection / Speculation connected with body cultures of the past, present and future. It was supported by the Vigeland Museum and funded by the Arts Council Norway and the City of Oslo.
